POKEMON EXPERTS ONLY: Rate my doulbes team plz?
I’ll get straight to the point:
Kingdra @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Swift Swim
– Waterfall
– Outrage
– Dragon Dance
– Draco Meteor
EVs: 252 Atk/24 SpA/232 Spe
Role: Physical sweeper. He comes out w/ Kyogre at the start and proceeds to do as much damage as possible. Draco Meteor is a good way to get rid of opposing dragons w/o getting locked into Outrage, and he won’t mind the drop in SpA.
Kyogre @ Lum Berry
Nature: Modest
Ability: Drizzle
– Hydro Pump
– Ice Beam
– Thunder
– Calm Mind/Thunder Wave
EVs: 252 SpA/252 HP/4 Def
Role: Bulky special sweeper + thunder wave lead. It already has calm mind, but I was thinking that twave would help it and kingdra in their sweep, since it might not get a chance to use CM. Pretty standard fare here.
Ludicolo @ Leftovers
Nature: Calm
Ability: Rain Dish
– Leech Seed
– Protect
– Grass Knot
– Rain Dance
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 SpD
Role: Supporter. He has rain dance so that he can put rain back on the field in case it gets cancelled out by another weather effect. The strategy here is to stay in the game and sap as much health from the opponent(s) as possible. Protect also makes a good scouting move. The last slot would have been Toxic, but since Dialga will be all over the upcoming VGC, it’s not that useful.
Mewtwo @ Expert Belt
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Pressure
– Rain Dance
– Bulk Up
– Brick Break
– Ice Punch
EVs: 252 Atk/216 Spe/36 HP
Role: Support/Sweeper. With base 130 spe, he can move first and put the rain back if need be. Also, he is the surprise weapon for Blisseys or SpD EV’d Tyranitars who are expecting to wall a special Mew2. Bulk Up powers up his moves off of a mediocre base 110 Atk, and he hits Groudon hard, too. In other words, he hits the team’s biggest counters super-effectively, and stops special walls from walling an overly-special team.
Final comments: This team is finished. But I need a final opinion b4 I start fighting. I feel that this team is sort of unbalanced because most of the pkmn are sweepers. So I wanted to make a bulky/tankish Kyogre (the tournament has an item clause, and Ludicolo needs the Leftovers) to last longer. If need be, I would relocate Ice Beam onto Ludicolo since GKnot alone can’t hurt the likes of Azelf very well. I already know that I have no sure-fire resistance to Electric, but I cannot think of a way to change the team structure without messing things up, and the tourney for me is a little more than 30 days away, and I need a good time’s worth of practicing. So here are the 2 questions I need answered:
1.) Does this team look good and stable?
2.) If the answer to #1 is “no”, how can I fix it? And what is a good way to make Kyogre bulky while still retaining good power? I already know RestTalk doesn’t work in doubles.
Plz critique =D

I guess. =/
wow this sounds like this team could take ya all thw way, but i think your team is focusing too much on water and ice, with a lil bit of support and stuff…
see what i do (it works well) I will have a heavy pokemon focusing on major attacks (Dragonite is great for this role) with a pokemon whos purpose is solely assist (Darkrai w/ sleep, ar any health boosting)
So that when you fight, say… your Darkrai uses (blast what is it called, the move that puts both them to sleep) and your Dragonite starts off as heavy as possible (hyper beam, draco meteor) so the next turn, he can rest, to reuse the PP.
Hope i helped
ok repalce clam mind or thunder wave on kyogre and put in like water sprout and mewtwo replace rain dance with psyic and replace kindras waterfall with surf
My husband agrees with me, we feel this is quite a good blog and a useful resource. Cheers for posting, keep it up.
Super stuff! This was a really effective publish.
