Heeyyy…Is it safe to say…?

…that the Flyers matched last nights effort?

I know anything can happen in the playoffs, but backing into the tourney does not instill confidence. Can’t blame it on injuries this time around. Can’t blame it on the old TV or my bad mojo.

So what can we make of team-wide statements that Coach Stevens is trying to get them in a playoff mentality, only to see them serve up stinkburgers?

Are they manuevering for a more favorable slot?

Hockey is far from an effortless game, but are they the kind of team that has to hustle 110% every game to realize their true potential that – in the end – costs them stretches of games where they are just too tuckered out to prevent first period deficits? (Read: Are they over-hyped?)

I don’t know…..maybe Awesome Bill needs to don the Mylec pads and man the net.
UUUUUUUUHHHHHHHH…….My mistake. Something weird happened that led to my posting of the question. I didn’t realize that I had channel surfed past a replay of the Leafs/Flyers tilt in Toronto. I saw the score and said “Nope, ain’t watchin’ this” and got on the internet where I saw two Flyers/Leafs games that ended in 3-2 wins for Toronto.

Weird.

I do some of the dumbest, uh…..sheet.

    It could be worse, Bill. A lot worse. Us Leaf fans know this.
    From my point of view, the Flyers have enough talent to pick it up when they need to but they better start to do it before the poor play becomes poor habit.
    Still, I’d rather see my team back into the playoffs than charge into futility.

    It’s been noted that the Flyguys have picked up the Iggles’ unfortunate habit of playing down to an opponent’s level; not showing up for games that they should win easily. The loss to the Leafs can’t be entirely blamed on Marty Mouth. He faced something around 27 shots in two periods. That’s an unacceptable team effort.
